With the approaching NBA season comes an abundance of NBA preview publications. With so many choices, which one should you choose?
Such a decision could take you days to make. To simplify everybody’s life I am going to identify the best NBA preview. If you go to any supermarket, bookstore, newsstand, etc… you will find the November issue of VIBE magazine.
What’s VIBE? From their website:
The VIBE Media Group is a leading music/lifestyle media company that publishes the award-winning VIBE magazine, the preeminent brand in urban and music culture, which was founded by Quincy Jones in 1993.
The November issue of VIBE presents “their toughest NBA preview yet, starring: Kevin Garnett, LeBron James, Amare Stoudemire, Tony Parker, Mike Conley Jr., Mark Cuban, The New Orleans Hornets, and the All-VIBE team. And everything you need to know about the league this season.”
The story of KG is especially compelling. In an article titled, Big Things Poppin’, the impact of Garnett moving to the Celtics is explored. Using a statistic called “Wins Produced” the author of this piece argues that the acquisition of Garnett and Ray Allen has transformed the Celtics – who were the second worst team in the NBA last season – into contender.
Yes, if you haven’t guessed so far, I wrote the article. Unfortunately it’s not available on-line. So if you want to read this take on Kevin Garnett and the new Celtics, you are going to have to make a trip to a newsstand near you. Hopefully you will find reading my article worth the trip. If not, the rest of the preview will definitely be worth your time.

Read it earlier this week. When I started the article, I thought that the tone and arguements sounded familiar pretty quickly. Once I was a third of the way through, I looked at the byline.
Very enjoyable, and written properly for the audience it was to–not too much technical stuff, but a good introduction, I thought.
